There is a severe teacher shortage and Alternative Teacher Certification is the answer. I was hired by Private Equity to take a state specific program and begin national expansion of Texas Teachers . I drove the transition to a national brand - Teachers of Tomorrow - and expanded into 9 new states. We launch a local entity in each state to ensure we meet the needs of local schools. We recruit, train, match, certify and support career changers who want to become great teachers. Working with our partner school districts, we matched over 8,800 new teachers with jobs last year in Texas alone and over 60,000 over the last 12 years. In less than 5 years we have been State Approved by Florida, Nevada, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama - and we have a pipeline of many more states in the near future! I was selected by the Texas Education Agency to serve on Educator Preparation Data committee for Texas. We are now the largest educator preparation program in the country.- Achieved State Board of Education approval in 5 new states in 1 year- Passed legislation in South Carolina and North Carolina in 1 year- Passed legislation in Michigan in less than 4 months to change law around teacher testing- Created national brand and website for new states exceeding all goals in first year- As head of marketing created all new materials, launched new website and improved digital advertising impact- Over 3,700 new teachers enrolled in the program in just 3 years with over 1,000 placed in schools in our new states in just this year- Passed legislation to allow alternative certification for special education teachers in Michigan- Worked on all materials and attended all meetings of Private Equity Board of Directors
