Synergy was the result of a merger between United Ag, Cedar Country and Lakeland Cooperatives effective October 1, 2017. Responsibilities increased from $70 million to $100 million. Oversaw 3 diverse divisions and 200 employees. There were more changes to the Convenience Store Department in 9 months than to any business unit in my career. There were a few hitches as expected but overall, transitions went well.

Profit and loss, business development, strategic growth, hire, train and terminate employees, accounts receivable and payable, information technology, sales and marketing, advertising, public relations, etc. United Ag merged into Synergy Cooperative in October 2017.

Overall responsibilities for both companies. Accountable for profit and loss, business development, strategic growth, hire, train and terminate employees, accounts receivable and payable, information technology, sales and marketing, advertising, etc. I managed two (2) companies and reported to two (2) boards.

Provided leadership to the board, attended all meetings and filled in for the president when he was unable to attend. I was expected to assume the presidency in August 2010 though the company was sold beforehand. Served on the board of directors from April 2006 until Aprl 2010 when the company was sold.

Reviewed and evaluated CEO's performance including executive relations with the board, leadership in the organization, in product / service / program planning and implementation and management of the organization and personnel. Offered administrative guidance. Implemented and enforced policies and objectives as recommended by the CEO designed to benefit Badger Energy. Acquired sufficient resources for the company's operations including financing as needed. Provided fiscal accountability, approved the budget and formulated policies related to contracts from public and private resources.

Supervised employees. Ordered bag and bulk products and managed inventory. Unloaded product. Maintained feed mill and grain elevator, equipment and trucks plus scheduled maintenance. Mixed, bagged and delivered feed (bags and bulk). Followed quality control guidelines and maintained a high level of customer service. Prospected for new business to increase market share while serving existing customers. Consulted and serviced customers / prospects to enhance their profitability using my ag and business knowledge and the experience of industry professionals. Balanced rations for numerous animal species including dairy and beef. Sold feed, animal health and related products. Prospected for new business while serving current clientele.

Delivered and explained policy(ies), analyzed customer's present insurance program and suggested additions or changes including possible beneficiaries. Customized insurance programs to suit individual customers often covering a variety of risks. Ensured policy requirements were fulfilled including any necessary medical examinations and completion of appropriate forms.Explained features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans.
