Executed model of acquiring for-profit light industrial staffing companies and through attrition filling positions with individuals who were experiencing homelessness. Required significant cultural shifts at each location —-addressing training, transportation, and customer mindsets. Number of underserved individuals working on daily basis increased from 50 to 1,500. Proper execution at First Step created highly successful employment engine for those typically excluded from traditional labor opportunities while doing so in a highly self sustaining, minimal philanthropy manner.

Various Senior Manager roles from 1997-2014 including Staffing Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and from 2007-2014 as Chief Executive Officer. During tenure was able to grow overall diversified socially entrepreneurial organization from $11 million to $40 million. Operated highly employment-centric businesses in clerical and light industrial staffing and security services. Also, in efforts to grow and diversify, started and successfully operated food co-packing operation providing contract packaging services for many large well-known food companies either based in or with operations in the northwest. Packaging operation employed approximately 200 persons with disabilities on daily basis. As a result of our efforts, employment for persons with various types of physical and mental disabilities increased to over 1,000 per week- in multiple locations including Portland (OR), Salem (OR), Baltimore (MD), and Boise (ID).
