My consulting shop (Bold City Software) was contracted to build a job and onboarding marketplace for Optimum Healthcare IT. We completed the project within client expectations both in respect to timeline and feature-set. This was a comprehensive website to streamline a specific business process, namely a need for the client to staff hospitals with workers who would perform software implementations during specific time frames. The portal handles:- Job tracking (what openings are available, how many seats, etc)- Document management (upload this, that, etc)- Applicant profile, certification, documentation & skill set tracking- Manager reviews/applicant scoring- Electronic Signatures- Integration to/from BullHornWe used the following technologies for development:- ASP.NET Web API 2 (C#, of course)- N-Tier Architecture (using Autofac for dependency-injection)- AngularJS (1.x)- SQL Server DBMS- EntityFrameworkMy role in the project:- Product development (built the n-tier architectural skeleton, implemented the core development patterns for the others to follow, implemented the main auth module, set up the shared development environment, etc., etc.)- Overall Project Management (Requirements gathering, Tech. spec, Managing the Kanban board, assigning tasks, reviewing pull requests, deploying the software for demos, tracking hours, invoicing, etc.)- Hiring Developers (We had half a dozen contributors, not including the 2 front-end guys provided by the client)- Customer relations (meetings, demos, progress reports, etc.)Overall the project was a great success. The client was pleased enough to ask us to continue the project after receiving our final deliverable. We were sad to have to decline it, but the team wanted to work on something else.
