About Dave Simmons

I am a Project Coordinator with the City of Toronto; working with the Pensions, Payroll, and Employee Benefits Business Transformation Team. I support a variety of transformation projects, including payroll platform modernisation, employee training programs, and global employee lifecycle process improvements, among others. I develop portfolio financial forecasts, track projected and actual project benefits, and develop communications for a variety of audiences.I have previously worked in the Utilities, Information Technology, Software Development and Civil Engineering industries. Outside of my career, I am passionate about sports, politics and urban development. I volunteer on the Executive Committee of Toronto United Flag Football, a league for LGBTQ+ people and allies. I have also been a team captain for a Toronto-based LGBTQ+ dodgeball league. In university, I was a member of the Queen's University Concrete Canoe engineering design team, where we built a floating canoe out of concrete, for an annual inter-university competition.
