IdentityJS: Building better systems for one tenth the cost. IdentityJS.comTechnology pioneer with largest - IBM Research, AT&T Bell Labs, Oracle - and smallest - several startups. Developing ground-breaking technology at every step: original cellular telephone system at Bell Labs, VP of original Oracle Financial Applications… Technology is what drives the US economy in both good times and bad. In good times it pushes, and in bad times it pulls but in all times it is the core of what makes this country the greatest in the world. And here’s the proof: There is only one Silicon Valley and it chooses to be here. The game-changing technology today is the Smartphone, changing the way we live, becoming the powerful digital equivalent of the old Swiss Army Knife, with Apps instead of blades… driving us to what is now a ‘Mobile First’ economy. But this power can’t be fully realized until we are able to develop applications that span all the platforms - Smartphones and Browsers, both mobile and desktop - that seamlessly communicate with the cloud from a concise and uniform source. And this is the objective of my current endeavor, IdentityJS. The current ‘state of the art’ is way too cumbersome.IdentityJS (IdentityJS.com), the name inspired by close integration with NodeJS, the architecture inspired by Graph Theory, an area of Discrete Mathematics. My experience building a multi-platform application called IMOK Personal Security highlights the pain I had to endure in not just building it, but maintaining it. As with most multi-platform apps, I discovered how important the cloud (server) is in commercial applications and the difficulty in managing and synchronizing all the different development contexts involved - iPhone, Android, Browser, and Server. Initially focused on unifying the client technologies, my discovery of node.js made it clear the server could also be included in this unification.
