Coordinated media interviews that raised awareness of agency priorities including the administration’s unprecedented investments in post-secondary skills training partnerships, expanding this use of apprenticeship in America, and the monthly release of the employment statistics. Collaborated with the White House, Congress, and other federal, state, and local organizations to elevate public understanding of agency priorities, investments, and regulatory actions. Established and sustained partnerships with foundations, advocacy groups, and Fortune 500 companies to ensure that training opportunities are accessible to those from traditionally underserved communities.Managed internal communications to 15,000 employees, resulting in a more than 30 percentage point increase in responses to the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey and moving from from 17th to sixth in the Partnership for Public Service’s “Best Places to Work” rankings among large agencies.

Helped to design and implement a management structure that streamlined communications operations and provided coherent, consistent messaging cutting across multiple component agencies. Coordinated communications for the White House Summer Jobs+ and Youth Jobs+ initiatives, which raised awareness of youth unemployment and seasonal jobs for young people. Served on the White House Open Government Working Group, which identified ways to leverage public data in innovative ways to deliver value to the American public.

Developed policies and procedures that continue to govern the Department’s use of social media.Created content for all official digital media platforms and Conducted online engagement campaigns to expand and enhance the Department’s online reach. Oversaw the Social Jobs Partnership, a joint initiative with Facebook, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, the Direct Employers Association, and the National Association of Colleges and Employers to explore how digital platforms can connect people with jobs.

Coordinated communications strategies for the High-Value Health Care Project aimed at making consistent cost and quality information widely available to consumers and providers.

Managed a team of staff, interns, and volunteers to execute numerous large scale, national events featuring high profile corporate, non-profit, and government leaders. Worked with local and national media outlets to position the Council as an articulate, respected, and recognized voice on public service, perceptions of government, and timely national issues. Managed the design, content, and delivery of reports, newsletters, public opinion research surveys, promotional material, educational collateral, and membership communications. Directed Public Service Recognition Week, an annual $1 million initiative to highlight the important contributions of government employees through local community events and an expo on the National Mall attended by more than 50,000 people. Launched a social networking site for young people working in and around government to exchange ideas and best practices for career success, as well as a web-based test to gauge emergency preparedness.

Created content for and maintained the Council’s online properties and membership database.Coordinated all visual media, including webcasting, video production, photography, and design.Collaborated on projects with multiple corporate, governmental, and non-profit groups including The Washington Post, WETA-TV, U.S. State Department and FEMA.

Coordinated the national Take Your Kids to Vote! campaign, which highlighted the important role parents play in demonstrating civic action that makes a lasting impression on young children. Developed partnerships with elected officials, celebrity sponsors, governmental organizations, and national corporations to maximize the visibility of the campaign. Wrote and designed campaign literature which was featured on NBC's Today Show.
