Stenning Energy Consultants is my personal service company that focuses on compressed natural gas and hydrogen shipping. For the past several years I have been working in the area of compressed natural gas and hydrogen shipping. There is a very large natural gas market that can be economically realized by using compressed gas ships. This is my current passion and focus.

Sea NG provides the technology to transport large quantities of compressed natural gas in specially designed CNG ships. As an inventor of the patented Coselle CNG technology and co-founder of Sea NG I led the company as CEO through its early period which required; building the management, technical and commercial teams, seed financing, marketing, technical development and regulatory approvals. As the company grew my role evolved into leading the technology development and supporting the commercial team as President & COO.

My job was to manage the technical development of compressed natural gas (CNG) ships and ancillary facilities to create a safe and economically efficient means of transporting CNG in specially designed ships,

Cran and Stenning Technology Inc. was the licensee of the Coselle CNG technology which was developed at Enron. My responsibility was to raise the money needed to continue the technical development of the technology and to manage the development. We successfully carried out a joint industry study with 13 industry participants that proved the technical and economic viability of Coselle technology. Through this effort the technology was sold to the Williams Group of Companies.

Enron was the first significant investor in the Coselle CNG technology. My responsibility at Enron was to manage the technical work required to bring the Coselle CNG technology from an idea to a real solution for transporting compressed natural gas in ships. This worked spanned a large range of engineering, commercial and regulatory issues from how to build the Coselle to encouraging the marine regulatory authorities to create new Rules for CNG ships so they could be classed.

This is a licenced engineering company that provides engineering and management consulting services to the energy industry. Project responsibilities ranged from internal engineering assignments to independent technical audit services and on-site project engineering and management services. Most of the projects were related to energy developments in northern seas. Clients were mostly large IOCs.One of the outcomes of this work was the co-invention of a new way to ship gas by sea using large coiled pipelines as the pressure vessel. This patented technology (called Coselle CNG technology) was purchased by Enron in 1997.

I was responsible for the engineering of several unique projects which were needed to explore for oil an gas in the Beaufort Sea. These projects ranged from an offshore concrete retained island for drilling (a world's first) to major dredging projects. I was also responsible for establishing a project services group whose mandate was to schedule, budget and monitor all of the construction activities needed to support the active Arctic drilling program. I reported to the Vice President of Engineering and Construction.
