Valu Merchandisers Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Wholesale Grocers, located in Kansas City, Kansas, serving over 3,600 retail stores across the United States. VMC is a partner in building sales and margins at retail with products, programs and services delivered via a dedicated team of professionals to meet the customer’s needs. VMC supplies member owned and non-member owned stores in a variety of categories; General Merchandise, Specialty Foods, Seasonal, Health, Beauty, Wellness and Pharmacy.Major responsibilities include setting the strategic direction for the business, overall P&L responsibility for the company with over 1 billion dollars in wholesale shipments, overseeing the procurement process for a portfolio of over 40,000 products, management of two distribution centers, Sales, store level merchandising functions, Customer Service, promotional and marketing activities.

Vice President/General Manager – National Account (2007 – 2013)Successfully managed a P&L with over $950mm in annual revenues for a number of national retailers within the Mass, Dollar, General Merchandise and Grocery channels of trade. Responsible for all aspects of strategic customer management and engagement. Directed all Sales, Marketing, Promotional, store level execution and shelf management activities for over 25K rooftops. Managed 240 full-time and 8,000 part-time employees. Oversaw $4.5 billion in total contract negotiations.
