As the senior technical member of the Jackson Laboratory's Computational Sciences Scientific Computing team, I am responsible for investigating and recommending new technologies; leading large scientific software projects; driving integration of software across independently developed applications and contributing to projects as a developer.

Principal Software Engineer involved in full-stack software development in a molecular diagnostics company using Groovy, Grails, and AngularJS with an Oracle database backend. Responsibilities included software design and development, mentoring more junior software engineers, working closely with the QA team in an agile environment, and providing production troubleshooting expertise for a Python based sequence analysis pipeline.

I led the Scientific Computing group in the Computational Sciences department at the Jackson Laboratory with staff located across 2 campuses. The role involved managing a team of scientific software engineers and QA professionals with the mission of delivering high quality computational biology research tools and clinical genomic systems. The group developed applications ranging from web applications for visualizing scientific data, desktop tools for aiding in image analysis, implementation of scientific algorithms for a high performance computing environment in the area of sequence analysis and other domains, to larger enterprise applications for mouse colony management and management of data in a clinical genomics environment.

Lead a team of software engineers building the storage provisioning component of a larger Java based server and storage provisioning system. Implemented the generic API that wrapped the storage vendor specific provisioning code.

Worked as a technical lead and principal software engineer building a Java based SDK, called the Node Developers Kit (NDK), for a network accounting application.
