Not for profit leadership and management contract work: Strategic Planning, Master Planning, Surveys (Strategic, Satisfaction and Operational Benchmarking) Governance, Boards & Policy/By Law’s, Operations, Marketing and Communications, Finances, Human Resources and Facilities Management.

Reporting to the President & CEO responsibilities included human resources, finance, technology and the upkeep of a heritage building including the operations of a conference floor. In my brief time at ECC I was able to get to know the team and understand the culture. In working with the team a new handbook was completed, a new benefit provider was selected and work began on building a new team culture.

Managed all aspects of the Club including its activities and the relationships between the Club and its Board of Directors, members, guests, employees, community, government and industry. Coordinated and administered the Club’s policies as defined by its Board of Directors. Implemented operating policies and procedures and directed the work of all department managers. Standards were set for the golf course, golf shop, food & beverage and administration departments. Major accomplishment included a long term business arrangement with Fairmont Bermuda with win/win synergies for both businesses. Redevelopment included a redesign and construction of a car park. Set standards for the golf course, constructed a new maintenance building, purchased necessary equipment based on an appropriate schedule. At the time of joining Scarboro, the club adopted the GM/COO concept recognizing that a coordinated leadership approach would be the key to success along with a shift in governance.
