I am a retired communicator in the financial and entertainment industries in Canada. Through my own company, Watt's the Word Communications, I helped business partners achieve their goals through compelling, clear and effective communications on a consulting, contract or full-time basis. In July 2014, I assumed the volunteer role of Vice President, Member Communications for the Toronto chapter of the IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) for the 2014/15 fiscal year. A strong team player, I build and nurture relationships with coworkers and business partners that instill a complete sense of trust that I’m on their side, and will go the extra mile to accomplish our mutual goals. As an effective business partner, I am knowledgeable, accessible, flexible, focused, detail oriented, and possess a great sense of humour — key during those trying times that inevitably arise in any business environment. I am adept at crafting messages that translate complex issues into plain language, bring superior editing skills to my communications and those of my colleagues and am experienced with many communication vehicles including social media.Specialties: Internal communications, strategic communications, change-management communications, writing, editing, proofreading.
