My current main research interests centre around laser surface engineering and wettability/adhesion science. I am Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Wettability Science and Technology (IJWST) (http://www.oldcitypublishing.com/journals/ijwst-home/) and an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Laser Science (http://www.oldcitypublishing.com/journals/ijls-home/)My research interests include, but are not limited to:- Laser surface engineering.- Wettability characteristics analysis and modification.- Modification of biological cell response (e.g. osteoblast, neuroblast, fibroblast and stem cells)- Application of adhesion theory for the restoration and conservation of antique artwork.- Laser materials processing (Welding, cutting, incision, drilling).- Industry 4.0/advanced manufacturing integration.I am often referred to as a very organized person who can work effectively when under pressure and with tight deadlines. With this in mind, many of my colleagues look to me for leadership and guidance on many aspects of teaching, research and administration.
