Oversaw the coordination, organization, and execution of a 501(c)(3) non-profit benefit music festival in memory of a friend & former classmate (Sergio Machado) who was killed in a car accident. The OH SNAP! Benefit Festival raised funds for a Non-Profit Scholarship Fund that was setup at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. The scholarship was established to send students to Southwestern to have the same opportunity that Sergio had. • Lead team of 10 former classmates in the coordination, marketing, and fund-raising of 12 hour event (3 years running)• Spend 6 Months planning each event, meeting every Thursday evening and leveraging project management tools for collaboration• Our festival in 2012 had 50 bands, 3 variety acts, 3 food vendors, & raised $10,000+, which went towards the scholarship fund we established at Southwestern University. • Apart from fund-raising for scholarship fund & providing a memorial to a deceased friend, the goal of the event is to foster the local community and support local businesses & musicians• Six events have been held (October 17th, 2009, March 21st, 2010, November 20th, 2010, January 27-28th, 2012, February 10th, 2012, July 13th, 2013)
