Biomedical Neuroscience Acoustics Lab, Department of Anesthesiology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center under Dr. Joseph SchlesingerAs a research assistant in the Biomedical Neuroscience Acoustics Lab, I utilized eye-tracking software to study multisensory integration, clinician responses to alarms, and the effects of noise-related comorbidities in the ICU. Our research aims to develop safe and effective patient monitoring and alarm systems. Additionally, I monitored participants to gather data on designing improved alarm systems for the Navy that communicate critical tactical information in complex auditory environments without exceeding background noise levels.

Delivered hands-on care and support. Proficient in vital sign monitoring, assisting nurses with patient care tasks, and managing a caseload of 8-12 patients nightly. Skilled in drawing blood labs and providing comprehensive patient care. Committed to ensuring a high standard of care and making a positive impact on the well-being of those entrusted to my care.

As a medical scribe in the Vanderbilt Emergency Department's Continuous Flow Unit, I support physicians and other healthcare professionals by accurately documenting patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans in real-time. I ensure that all clinical documentation meets regulatory and quality standards, allowing for efficient patient care and streamlined communication among the medical team. This role has strengthened my understanding of emergency medicine, enhanced my medical terminology knowledge, and provided me with invaluable experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

In my role as Site Coordinator for the Students for Health Equity Program at Vanderbilt Nursing School, I've had the opportunity to take on a leadership role in delivering impactful health lessons to refugee elementary age children. As the architect behind our lesson plans, I've meticulously designed engaging curriculum tailored to the unique needs of our community. Additionally, I oversee logistics, from shopping for supplies to leading a dedicated team in executing these plans with precision and care. It's immensely fulfilling to see the positive influence our efforts have on the well-being and empowerment of these children, laying the groundwork for healthier, brighter futures.

As a Student Outreach Worker with the Students for Health Equity Program at Vanderbilt Nursing School, I had the privilege of making a meaningful impact in the lives of refugee elementary age children. Through our program, I helped deliver engaging lessons on various health aspects, fostering a foundation for wellness and empowerment within this vibrant community. It was incredibly rewarding to witness the positive transformation and understanding these children gained, paving the way for healthier futures.

During my internship with Scleroderma United, I developed and executed several initiatives to raise awareness and promote engagement around Scleroderma on campus. I organized a campus-wide fitness challenge to encourage healthy lifestyles while educating participants about scleroderma. Additionally, I coordinated movie screenings that featured films related to health and resilience, fostering a supportive community and dialogue about rare diseases. My work focused on increasing outreach and building connections within the campus community, resulting in enhanced visibility for the organization and greater awareness of scleroderma.
