Aspiring Actuary with diverse experience in life, health, consulting, and reinsurance. Natural born problem solver, with a penchant for finding unique and creative solutions to complex problems.Currently, I am in my final stages of completing a Master’s Degree program in Actuarial Science at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies and will graduate in December 2024. During my time at Columbia, I have received competitive scholarships from The Actuarial Foundation and Sexuality and Gender Alliance of Actuaries (SAGAA) and have passed two actuarial examinations, exams P/1 and FM/2, while working full time. I am also looking forward to taking the CAS Exam MAS-2 in May 2025.Career Highlights:• Completed two actuarial internships and one finance internship focused in the areas of life & health insurance, consulting, reinsurance, accounting, and data analysis.• Successfully created a cost model analyzing the recreation center reimbursement benefit and presented results to the Equity Principals of the firm.• Converted and automated the development of a model inforce file from Alteryx to Python using Numpy and Pandas to create a more robust process to build the inforce policy output. • Employed knowledge of statistics to help the firm improve business decisions and analyzed statistical data to better organize the client database, making operations more streamlined during my internship. • Completed an independent study project in statistics that tested and explained why the critical reception and audience response to films vary. For this project I used SPSS and JMP to test and analyze the data and utilized data visualization tools to present findings.
