My objectives are simple: 1) work on complex, and business critical projects and/or processes - I want to contribute to delivering for and exciting the customer; 2) collaborate with a team of hard working, focused, and motivated team members; and 3) be challenged in terms of learning new ideas, achieving big goals, and innovation for the customer and business.In my Amazon career I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of new and challenging projects many that had never been done before. All of them were completed and I think the team and I learned many lessons along the way that's taught many valuable lessons such as:1. People over processes. 2. Teams succeed and individuals struggle - I wouldn't say fail but it's harder if the team is size = 13. Learn - every project or new thing a company wants to do is going to require learning - I wouldn't call it mistakes but it's the cost of doing something new and figuring it out. It's a great and necessary skillset not just for individuals but for organizations. Change is happening all the time.4. See things from more perspectives - develop wider vantage points to include more ideas and avoid more issues that can be avoided.5. Keep trying. Don't give up.6. KISS - Keep it simple ...7. Risk is reduced by actually delivering things - whether it is a process change, a communication change, or a code change. This with KISS can help organizations and people move faster and learn!Those are the skills and approach that has led me to succeed getting projects done and launched. I've also had the good fortune of being an active part of the Amazon interview community. I'm actively involved in the interview process and have been fortunate to talk with over a 1,000 candidates interested in joining Amazon. The greatest success I've seen is bringing in new and talented people to grow the organization and continue expanding the skillsets and perspectives of the company.
