David is a co-senior deputy chief of the C.I.T.Y program at CASA of Cook County, where he leads a team of advocates and mentors for youth in foster care. With over eight years of experience in social justice impact leadership, David is passionate about empowering marginalized people and communities to overcome adversities barriers and challenges in order to achieve their full potential. David is also a certified mental health first aid provider for military and veterans, and a USMC veteran himself.As a co-founder of two non-profit organizations, The Social Justice Network and The 2Gethers Foundation, David leverages his expertise in transition and transformation and community violence prevention to support individuals and groups facing various challenges, such as gun violence, transition and transformation, re-entry, homelessness, addiction, and trauma. David is also the author of WeakDay Remedies, a transformational journal based on his personal journey of healing and growth after spending 15 years in prison. David's mission is to inspire, educate, and equip others with the tools and strategies to transform their lives and become the best version of themselves.
