I managed a development team of 2 to 4 developers. I also managed the four-person application support team supporting hundreds of applications. The support team closed 50+ tickets per week and provided 24/7 coverage.I worked on projects such as modifying the fuel pricing application to manage a 50% increase in the average number of changes per day and to execute rapid price changes more effectively. I also created alerts that identified approximately 100 incorrect sign prices per day.I led a project to implement retention policies on all reports in the document repository. We deleted 170 gigs of data, 270K reports, 300 report topics, and slowed repository disk space growth. Also, led a project that reduced applications using Oracle by 65% by both converting applications to SQL Server and working with development teams to convert their applications.

I created and supervised dedicated software development and application support teams. I supervised a team that grew to over 20 developers while leading projects and developing apps. While in this role I proposed and led adoption of agile development methodology for the team. I continued to lead the development of the fuel dispatch system. We added features such load planning, asset tracking, truck computer integration, delivery tracking, runout alerting, and reporting and analysis. The application managed over 600 trucks and 2000 deliveries per day.I saved the company over $300k by taking the initiative to lead the project to create iOS and Android mobile store locator applications. Both apps were highly rated in the app stores. I also led the development of a fleet maintenance application which saved money on maintenance costs and improved fleet uptime.I developed several applications and reports including a mobile accessible report of company and store-level fuel sales that was updated every 30 minutes, a web service to pull inventory readings and other ATG-related info for every store, and a process to sync employees to the back office system. The process maintains over 20K employees in over 600 locations. I also worked with another developer to architect and create a process to automatically update cigarette sign boards in stores with the latest pricing and promos. The system is currently in 160+ stores, manages 1.4MM promos and 900K product prices.

I collaborated with the fuel accounting manager to analyze buying decision data, saving $30MM in a merger. I designed a fuel dispatch and inventory management system and supervised the development. I also achieved a 7-hour decrease in executive-level report delivery times by developing a set of processes to query on data directly from stores.I saved hundreds of store labor hours by creating an automated fuel pricing system that significantly changed the pricing decision methodology and execution at the store level. I reduced the fuel accounting team workload by conceiving, designing, and implementing a rules-based application that improved the accuracy of daily store fuel delivery data entered at the stores.I developed a price quoting system which replaced a spreadsheet and manual faxing process. The process allowed the sales team to take on more customers without adding staff. I also created an inventory management system for electronics that reduced backroom inventory and improved inventory levels on the floor at the stores.I led the team that implemented automated showers, eliminating the need for drivers to stand in line at the fuel desk to purchase showers. The system currently handles over 4000 showers a day at 600 stores. I led the development of receipt kiosk software for stores, eliminating the need for drivers to go to the fuel desk for receipts and allowing drivers to search for and print old receipts. I also led the project to select and implement a shop point of sale system for a chain of truck repair shops.
