I have focused my career in Healthcare Technologies for over 20 years, and have had the pleasure of watching the influence of IT over all facets of care delivery. Although I was first focused in Imaging while in school, I moved back toward general IT design and architecture with CHS, applying those concepts to applications focused in ER Care, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, but ultimately ending in Oncology. It was here I moved from CHS to Varian, where I have been for past 7 years. In each stent, I have been used as a consultant to improve care by enhancing and enabling the clinicians with the information they need at the point and time of care. In Oncology at VMS, this became even more demanding, requiring me to further expand my skills into HL7, Virtual Technologies (including client and server-based virtualization), Cloud solutions, and other advanced IT concepts. I continue this education even today, working now on additional certifications such as MS Cloud, VM Ware 5.0 Cert, and Citrix XenApp Certifications, in addition to those I have now, including my BSBA in Business Management from Western Carolina University.
