David is a housing justice organizer working with neighborhood renters, homeowners and activists to envision and bring about a better world. They co-create programming with residents of the Greater East Side, and work with residents to reinvent their neighborhood in a way that serves current residents without displacement. David is committed to antiracism, feminism, human rights and thoughtful social change. David's organizing is driven by a desire to dismantle over a century of racist policy leading to the current state of segregation and wealth inequality in Minnesota. In pursuit of this, they work to organize renters and residents around unsafe and unhealthy housing situations, fair housing violations, land and development policy, renter protections, and other key issues. David also has worked to create and launch a collective development project with other members of the East Side Cooperatives Initiative. ESCI strives to create a new vehicle for community wealth building and asset protection, centering permanent affordability and democratic control. David is interested in urbanism, public transit, healthy public spaces, and housing and transit equity. They use storytelling and learning about the past to build towards a better future. David hopes to continue working with other regular working people to dismantle white supremacy and help create an urban model that will help us all to live vibrantly and equitably in a post-ecological crisis world.
