Responsible for the design and development of solenoids that are used in the operation of automatic transmissions. I have had the opportunity to regularly interface with customers to develop product requirements and specifications. I gained experience with developing CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies of varying complexity. I have used the ANSYS Workbench simulation suite to model magnetic fields, problems in fluid dynamics, and static structural forces. I also learned to use the Amesim software package for simulating more complex system interactions. I gained hands-on experience with the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype components and assemblies. I earned my ASI Greenbelt in Design for Six Sigma during a project where I optimized the design of a new product to reduce cost of manufacture, and improved product performance. I earned my Shainin Red X Apprentice certification during a project where the customer was unable to complete validation due to early test failures in our part. Using Red X methodologies, I was able to locate the cause of the problem and advised manufacturing on how to implement better controls on the production line.
