Enfant, quand il va chez son grand-père, celui-ci passe sur son pick-up le standard de jazz « Cheek to cheek ». A croire que cela lui restera dans l'oreille puisque deux décennies plus tard,il en fera l’un des titres fétiches de son répertoire.Parallèlement au saxophone il fait l'apprentissage du chant choral en musique sacrée dans le pupitre de ténor à Levallois-Perret, ville où il réside encore.Il écrit des chansons qu’il teste dans les bars de la région parisienne. Les musiciens qui l’accompagnent dans ces lieux lui font découvrir le jazz et son langage. C’est le coup de foudre. Dans un style crooner, il multiplie alors les passages sur scène et organise pendant plusieurs années des jam jazz hebdomadaires. Sa réputation d'« entertainer » parisien, donne lieu à un album en 2012 enregistrement live d'un de ses concerts au Petit Journal Montparnasse.David s'initie ensuite à la guitare manouche à la Swing RomaneAcadémie, où il enseigne aujourd’hui le chant.
