I look back at my LinkedIn employment history and I just have to laugh 😂I don’t have a long list of careers and jobs in various industries and locations. I’ve spent nearly my entire professional life working toward one endeavor — forming, building, and improving my post-production company.Before starting that, I was a freelance editor primarily in the wedding video industry. There was so much I loved about that space. The odds are really stacked against wedding video editors — nothing is scripted, no shots are guaranteed, the story is built in the editing bay, and the expectations are surprisingly rigorous.I loved the challenge. And I got good at it.So good, I got too much work and I took it as a sign to form a team. And that’s where I discovered another passion aside from editing.My enneagram is a 2w1 enneagram which is often labeled The Helper or The Teacher and I think it fits pretty well. In classic E-Myth fashion, I’ve found myself progressing through the stages of technician > manager > entrepreneur and I’m fortunate to have found fulfillment in the changes.My journey in forming a company has been both rocky and smooth, treacherous and joyful.
