David has been a student of the ballistic arts for over 30 years and a firearms industry professional for 15 years. His unique approach comes from many years of being both instructor and student. Remembering there is always more to learn keeps him evolving. As a shooting range facility manager, senior instructor and training coordinator for many years, at multiple facilities, he has had a front row seat to the best the industry can offer. David was the Assistant General Manager and Training Coordinator of Blackstone Shooting Sports in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Operations Manager and Training Coordinator of Range, Guns & Safes LLC in Atlanta Georgia, a Combat Focus Shooting Instructor, a PPCT Defensive Tactics and SHARP instructor, a 20 year NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, a USMC marksmanship instructor, a Glock certified advanced armorer and Instructor, founder of Kinetic Options, and founding partner of Ardent Tactical, with over 5000 students taught over his career. He has provided specialized training for the GTOA, GALEFI, IAPPA, I.C.E., FEMA, and various law enforcement departments. While on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corp, he served as a TOW gunner for anti tank support and as a NBC monitor/survey technician during the liberation of Kuwait in 1990-91. His professional security experience includes working as executive protection during the 1996 Olympics, corporate security, and facility security management. David Aldea has a long history of training, with numerous certifications. His knowledge is not limited to just the shooting sports. He is an eclectic conversationalist and polymath seeking knowledge at every opportunity. He makes a regular effort to get outdoors for fishing, hiking, camping and backpacking. When David is not outdoors he is a tenacious researcher, doing research for both screenplays and writing his own book. If you don’t see him on the range, you might find him on the backcountry trails or in a university library.
