I have recently started a new role as Senior Data Product Developer with Oranga Tamariki.I was previously employed as R&D Data Systems Developer at DC Equipment until June 2023.Prior to this I was employed as Mine Systems Technician and Analyst, as well as Database and GIS Administrator for OceanaGold, Waihi New Zealand. This role allowed me to work with a range of software packages, geological and geochemical data as part of the exploration team, alongside the engineering and survey departments as part of the underground operations. Furthermore I have worked alongside other departments looking at solving technical problems and developing processes and platforms to better manage and use data.Prior to this as a Research Assistant in GeoInformatics, I have worked on numerous diverse projects, ranging from estimating field sizes from historic aerial photography, collecting crowd-sourced data for flood mapping purposes, to web interface development for climate impacts dissemination, and tool development for data visualisation. The variety of projects and work undertaken has meant I have worked with both the public and private sector, including HM Treasury, EnviroCentre (environmental consultants), Port of Tyne, Met Office, Tyne and Wear Museums and others besides. These experiences have given me the opportunity to present work at both national and international conferences alike, including the GIS Research UK conference (Nottingham, 2015), and the International Symposium for Next Generation Infrastructure (Australia 2013, Austria 2014).
