Responsible for providing technical support to the Australasian Protective Coatings, Marine and Yacht Businesses. Establish and implement a basic strategy and budget, evaluates opportunities, prioritises and manages the activity of the technical team. Organise and direct the work of laboratory personnel to meet planned deadlines through establishment of staffing requirements, reporting support activities and providing technical support to customers. Specifically, the functional areas which the Section Manager manages and oversees include:• Liaison with manufacturing sites across South Asia regarding manufacture and quality issues associated with Protective Coatings and Marine products with a view to improving quality and manufacturing efficiency.• Investigation of product performance complaints and preparation of responses.• Evaluation of replacement raw materials for VE or strategic purposes and implementation of changeover in manufacturing.• Testing of materials to published specifications and reporting of test results as appropriate• Submission of material and/or panel samples to outside agencies for product approval purposes• Formula change request process.• Manage the laboratory and development of technical staff• Prepare laboratory project data for presentations to the sales force and major customers• Testing and qualification of coatings to meet specification requirements

Work with the Akzo Nobel Coil Coatings in Melbourne, Australia to implement a range of International Paint Marine & Protective Coatings products into there factory. Coach and training key personnel in the factory on the manufacture and quality assurance testing parameters.
