As an aspiring scientist in the third grade in a creative writing summer camp, I wrote about one day leading a science lab akin to the legendary Bell Labs. That’s exactly what I get to do today at X, pursuing moonshots alongside some of the most exceptional people I’ve known. The incredible pace of advancement here would feel daunting if we hadn’t cultivated a “calm within the storm” environment where brilliant, committed, visionary thinkers can collaborate and thrive. At X, I’m excited by the ability to democratise computer science, bringing its power to industries and people, making it easier to interact with technology. Leading the AI and machine learning team, I’ve been fortunate to contribute to noteworthy projects like Tapestry and Chorus. Apart from the people at X, one of the best parts of my job is synthesizing ideas across projects, connecting the dots and guiding teams through the process of creating impactful moonshots.In the realm of AI, one of the key limitations is maintaining contextual accuracy within real business applications. Our team is finding ways to align AI outputs with the realities of specific industries. For instance, Chorus, one of our public moonshots, is revolutionizing supply chains in part by developing AI models grounded in the real world. Together, we’re working toward a better future through scientific innovation.I’m also a husband, father, passionate player of soccer and bridge, a puzzle nerd, an avid snowboarder, and a travel-lover.
