In my role with AFL Victoria, I have been the Field Umpire coach for the Development Squad and now the Senior Development Squad. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing the coaching of a group of 11 field umpires to improve their skills to get them best prepared to umpire senior football at State League level. As part of this role, I conduct weekly coaching sessions showing footage from recent games and discuss key aspects of footage, plan and carry out skill drills, observe umpires of a weekend sitting within the State League pathway structure and provide feedback and assessments relating directly to their matchday performance.
