Initially trainee assistant unit controller, completed Recommendation 47 and C&G levels 1, 2 & 3 in power plant operation. Consolidated training before upgrading to Unit Controller in May 2010. Appointed unit controller in December 2010. Appointed Enhanced Unit Controller October 2016.Duties include start up and shut down and running of a 500MW coal fired power station unit in accordance with safety procedures and safe operating guidance. Fully conversant with Station P.F. Code of Practice, health and safety practices, raising defects in MAXIMO and writing comprehensive unit logs and safe handover of unit. Trained to level of AP1, CPS, AP2, AP3 and AP4 under the SSE Generation System Safety Rules.
