I am passionate about building multidisciplinary teams, focused on creating value and developing talent in my role as Chief R&D Officer at SD Guthrie. We are reimagining and reinventing the oil palm industry through game-changing innovations to improve yield, mechanisation and food quality. Bringing together the latest research in genetics, precision agriculture, engineering and chemistry, SD Guthrie's scientists are tackling food security at the core. We developed GenomeSelect seeds that increase yields by more than 15% to ensure we can produce more from less, and meet growing demands while putting a stop to deforestation. We are now focusing on combining this with new ways to mechanise and automate our plantations to increase productivity and improve working conditions for our employees.
