This quote particularly resonates with me as a finance major, because it dismisses any implied conformities that one must abide by to become successful. My ability to adapt quickly to new environments has allowed me to develop my own unique work style. During my time in the food and hospitality industry, I honed my multitasking and communication skills in ways that would help me flourish in other positions. As my job experiences suggest, I am not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone and I love to learn. I am a well-rounded individual who will face any challenge head-on.Much of my job experience is customer service oriented, but I also have a background in training staff, carrying out office administration tasks, and using patient management software. As a Medical Receptionist, I familiarized myself with administrative and billing procedures of the medical practice, as well as the technical processes of its operations. I became well-versed in my interactions between patients, insurance, and billing companies whilst maintaining strict confidentiality. As an employee in the food and beverage service field, I learned the importance of providing customers with consistent quality and speedy service. I mastered the ability to work under pressure with multiple tasks ahead. Accepting leadership positions in both the healthcare and food service industries has also enabled me to take on new responsibilities and grow as a mentor.Outside of work, I have a particularly active lifestyle. I have a black belt in karate and I have been dancing hula for over 10 years at Hawaiian cultural organizations. Additionally, I enjoy playing the ukulele, singing, and hiking/geocaching. I especially love to share my time and hobbies with friends!Lastly, I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to study abroad at De Montfort University. The experience of seeing new places and meeting new people across the world has changed my life. I would encourage everybody to travel abroad if given the opportunity!
