+ Provided Project Management and Technical Integration expertise for the Microgravity and Life Sciences Project, consisting of the Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG), Life Sciences Glovebox (LSG), and ISS Portable Glove Bag (IPGB). + Served as the Microgravity and Life Sciences Glovebox (MLSG) Deputy Project Manager, responsible for Sustaining engineering; and Payload integration efforts, including any ancillary hardware and support equipment required for payload test, integration, and operations. + Executed the MLSG task(s) per the Internal Task Agreements (ITAs). Lead life cycle costs and schedules including DDT&E, Verification, Safety, Operations, and Sustaining Engineering through the life of the Space Station for hardware, software, and tasks to be performed by the MLSG team. + Helped support the Project Manager with the Research Integration Office (OZ), supporting working groups, panels, and boards as necessary.

SLS SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER+ Member of Marshall Space Flight Center’s (MSFC) Integrated Systems Health Management & Automation (ISHM) group also known as Mission and Fault Management (M&FM). My primary role is to provide test integration, management, and leadership skills to the Vehicle Management End-to-End Testbed Simulation-in-a-Box (VSIB) team. + Provided project planning, facilitation, and professional presentation skills to manage VSIB internal and external stakeholder interfaces, the VSIB testing schedule, test priorities, and result impacts. VSIB is a digital simulation platform focused on testing and validating the Space Launch System (SLS) flight computers’ mission & and fault management algorithm logic. This logic drives the SLS Core Stage rocket, and its operation led to a successful Artemis I launch in November 2022. Personal efforts in the VSIB area earned a NASA Space Flight Awareness Award (2018) and NASA Customer Letters of Commendation (2019 and 2022). Early VSIB team findings (2022) for the Artemis II mission have led to a program cost savings of over $1M.+ Provided branch recruiting and hiring support that includes mentoring new engineers/college interns. These efforts streamline their onboarding process and aid with fault management big-picture understanding. Also, maintain the M&FM SharePoint site.+ Authored four deliveries of the SLSP M&FM Design Analysis & Performance Assessment (DAPA) Volume 6 Algorithm Test Procedures and Results document (SLS-RPT-087-06) – a technical report summarizing VSIB testing results. + Co-authored the 2022 release of the Fault Management Plan (SLS-PLAN-085). This plan is the over-arching document for the M&FM group and contains information on all aspects of the group’s expertise including but not limited to algorithm logic development, False Positive/False Negative and Goal Tree/Success Tree analyses, abortability, and logic testing. This was the first release/update of this document since 2014.

ISS SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER/SME+ Senior member of a small, highly-utilized operations team supporting two payload facilities onboard the International Space Station (ISS) originating with first ops on Expedition 5 (2002). Provided continuous task support through three contract changes over a very successful fourteen-year period. Received two NASA Space Flight Awareness Awards (2006 and 2011), the prestigious Raytheon Corporate Team Award (2004), and two NASA Astronaut Appreciation Awards (Expeditions 6 and Expedition 9) for these efforts.+ Supported over 4000 real-time hours as a primary operations controller for the ISS’s Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG) and First Materials Science Research Rack (MSRR-1) payload facilities.+ Supported 28 highly successful science payload investigations on MSG ranging from Life Science to Fluid Physics to Technology Demonstrations - representing multiple NASA, European Space Agency (ESA), and private industry technology sectors.+ Supported many sample cartridge assembly (SCA) exchanges for both MSRR-1 furnaces. Also, provided major support in returning the facility to operations after an on-orbit mishap (2011).+ Provided MSG and MSRR facility subject matter expertise (SME) to the Payloads Operations Integration Center (POIC) cadre during payload planning, re-planning, and operations execution phases.+ Provided MSG and MSRR facility systems command and control, telemetry monitoring, data analysis, and troubleshooting/problem resolution in a high-pressure, manned space flight operations environment. + Supported MSG facility and investigation payload hardware and software testing at the Space Systems Integration Test Facility (SSITF). This included Human Factors Implementation Team (HFIT) walkthroughs, crew procedure validations, and new hardware and test operations. Received the NASA Silver Achievement Medal for this effort (2014).+ Designed and maintained the MSG website from 2001-09.

BMC3/IFICS SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER+ Supported the National Missile Defense (NMD) Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) software test team. Developed and performed software ground test procedures for multiple iterations during the early release test phase using the BMC3 Test Exerciser (TEx). Performed requirements validation through the data analysis of test results. + Participated in the successful first In-Flight Interceptor Communications System (IFICS) fly-by test at Melbourne, FL as the ground-to-aircraft radio controller. + Designed and maintained intranet websites for the BMC3 Test and Evaluation Group and Department of Defense (DoD) Programs Division.

SPACELAB OPERATIONS/SIMULATION LEAD ENGINEER+ Managed a six-person Spacelab simulation task over a very successful 23-mission run. Responsible for training and preparing both contractor and NASA engineers for the unpredictability of manned space flight operations. The performance earned fourteen NASA Director’s Mission Achievement Awards (1988-1998).+ Supported over 2000 real-time hours on Spacelab module and pallet missions as a certified flight controller in the roles of Operations Engineer, Operations Manager, and Chief Engineer. + Developed and delivered a Spacelab systems malfunction database by scouring system-level drawings and working with the hardware/software experts to find multi-layered fault case events. Faults were used during simulations for off-nominal, contingency, and worst-case mission scenarios. + Pioneered use of a Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) telemetry database tool for real-time simulation execution – earned the prestigious NASA Silver Snoopy Award for this effort (1991). + Conducted simulation and mission briefings/debriefings for engineers, managers, and customers - improving mission success by enhancing the team’s flight operations proficiency. + Developed and delivered over 30 computer-based training (CBT) courses on Spacelab system components, capabilities, functions, and safety hazards used for team flight readiness/certification. + Designed and maintained the Spacelab Project website that captured the program’s highly successful seventeen-year run.

ENTRY-LEVEL ENGINEER/SRB RE-CERTIFICATION+ Developed ground operations requirement databases in support of Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) and Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) recertification efforts following the Space Shuttle Challenger accident (1986).+ Worked with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Critical Items List (CIL), Launch CommitCriteria (LCC), Operations & Maintenance Requirements and Specifications (OMRS), and other safety and hazard-related data. + Supported NASA Safety, Reliability, and Quality Assurance (SRQA) personnel with waiver and deviation evaluations at NASA Level III/IV SRB/SRM Configuration Control Boards.
