My responsibilities include overseeing the engineering department to ensure all internally FAA-DER approved repairs, repair specifications, and repair fabrications are technically accurate and sufficiently substantiated in order to meet all applicable airworthiness standards. Further, I am responsible for ensuring that all in-house designed test equipment and fixtures are properly designed and manufactured to meet their intended function. I also work very closely with the sales department to be informed about our customer's needs in an effort to provide engineering solutions that can lower their material cost, improve component reliability, and provide alternate solutions for parts and components that are no longer available in the marketplace.

Managed the development of 8110-3 approved major repairs and repair fabrications for aircraft components and assemblies. Worked with vendors and in-house personnel to ensure repairs and new part fabrication are performed in accordance with required procedures, specifications, and applicable FAA regulation. Developed and approve via form 8110-3; repair packages to salvage components and repair fabrication of detail parts IAW AC 43.18. Worked with operator's engineering departments to identify parts that exhibit a particular failure mode and came up with engineering solutions to improve the part and/or component reliability performance.

Was responsible for all aspects of design, from concept through production, of aftermarket jet engine components (PMA parts): Determined manufacturability and economic feasibility of candidate parts; researched all applicable technical documents; oversaw geometric inspection and material characterization; performed stress, fits and clearances, and statistical analyses to determine final tolerances; compiled all available data and produced the final design using AutoCAD Mechanical software. Wrote engineering reports, test plans as required, FAA application letters, and Forms 8110-3 and 8120-10 for submittal to the FAA ACO as a prerequisite for PMA approval. Prepared and certified conformity packages using FAA Form 8130-9. Interacted with the FAA ACO and MIDO during the process of PMA approval. Responded to field product problems by implementing corrective action as required.
