My name is David Arida and I am a graduate from the Honors Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science Computer Science degree, born and raised in East Brunswick, New Jersey. My computing interests are primarily in hardware and user design. Back in high school, seeking to commence my computing journey, I used HTML/CSS/Javascript to create and maintain websites for the churches in my hometown and a counter that utilizes voice recognition. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I worked with a group to create a clean water crowdsourcing application in Java and interned at CMIT Solutions, where I set up cloud computing for clients. I also had a position as a teaching assistant, where I use my expertise in C to assist students and make them enjoy the wonders of the computing world, and worked in a summer internship at ADP to use APIs to organize unstructured client data and create a web application. I tackled various side projects as well, such as creating an application that recognizes hand movements via Microsoft Bands to transfer contact information, working with a team to build a web application that can help optometrists, and porting one of IBM's Watson API functionalities to Python. I am currently continuing a new journey at Goldman Sachs to tackle technical challenges involving applications managing client assets on both the front and back ends. Whether it be directly teaching computing material or indirectly using my computing skills, I always desire to utilize my passion for computing to bring about positive change.
