All About STEM is located right at the heart of the North West, and a strategic player in the STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Maths) landscape, matching opportunities with need. We have built a solid network of stakeholders including schools, FE/HE and businesses whilst managing various different projects and through our excellent media and marketing campaigns.My role included:-delivery of the National Apprenticeship Support ASK project across Cheshire, Warrington, Knowsley and Wirral-Development and delivery of bespoke workshops for industrial partners to deliver in schools (KS3-5)

CheshireSTEM is a new exciting and dynamic company, dedicated to supporting schools, business and individuals within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) world.We build and support links between local schools and ambassadors from businesses, industry, universities and many other areas, in order to provide schools pupil with an opportunity to hear about the STEM subjects from people who actually work in these areas. Even this, however, does not give a full picture of the excellent work of CheshireSTEM which aims to inspire, excite and engage pupils to encourage them to pursue careers using STEM subjects and skills.

I completed my PhD investigating the effect of trees upon the environmental conditions of the urban landscape in May 2012. My work focused upon the cooling benefits that trees and greenspaces provide within the urban environment and quantified to what extent they can reduce the Urban Heat Island and improve human comfort.

Undergraduate Student

I volunteered for conservation projects in Swaziland as I decided to pursue a career in Ecology and I wished to gain experience before embarking upon a degree in this subject area.

I worked as a process plant operator for 4 years with the responsibility of monitoring and operating the plant machinery to produce ammonia as part of the production of chemical fertilizer.

Started working straight from school as a quality controller and quickly showed I was capable of progression and was given the opportunity to progress. After being one of first trainees to complete an NVQ Level 4 in flexographic printing I became a part of the printing team.
