David Aronoff is a partner in the law firm Fox Rothschild LLP. Mr. Aronoff has almost 30 years experience litigating sophisticated intellectual property, entertainment, media and business cases. Mr. Aronoff has represented and advised numerous business companies – including motion picture and television studios and production companies, broadcasters, websites, podcasters, videogame companies, publishers and advertising agencies – as well as various other entities, creative artists, and rights holders, in a wide variety of copyright, trademark, and related matters. Among other things, he has defended copyright infringement and idea submission claims against movies such as "The Last Samurai," “Along Came Polly” and “Antz” and reality television series such as "National Bingo Night," “Average Joe” and “Work Out.” Among his recent cases, he conducted a two week bench trial defending accounting and breach of contract claims arising from the financing and distribution of the videogame "Def Jam Rapstar," and defended the in-development spy-thriller "Section 6" against claims that it infringed the copyrights in the character James Bond. Mr. Aronoff was President of the Los Angeles Copyright Society ("LACS") in 2012-13, was the 2004-05 Chairman of the Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property Section of the L.A. County Bar Association (“ELIPS”), and in 2006 served as the Symposium Chairman for the 30th Annual ELIPS Symposium “The War of the Deal: Litigation Hollywood Style.” He has been a lecturer, panelist and moderator at numerous MCLE seminars. Mr. Aronoff has been recognized as a Southern California “Super Lawyer” each year commencing in 2005 by the publisher of Los Angeles Magazine and is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Aronoff graduated cum laude from Hastings College of Law in 1986, where he was a member of the Thurston Honor Society and an editor of the Constitutional Law Quarterly.
