A three year programme with direct entry to British Airways Engineering, where skills will be developed to become a professional Aircraft Engineer. The course teaches a broad understanding of the Engineering Operation whilst gaining the qualifications required to become a future Aircraft Mechanic.Principal Accountabilities -To learn, understand and assist in the daily engineering operation.- Assist with ensuring the technically reliant aircraft are ready for dispatch from our hangerenvironment.- Maintain all of the aircraft to an approved maintenance schedule- Carry out routine servicing of BA shorthaul fleet of aircraft.- Assist with any minor repairs or modifications to BA aircraft.- Performance of any duties consistent with role as and when required to help departmentsmeet their objectives.- Following procedures/ processesThe role deepens experience/ skills/ knowledge of the industry through on-the-job learning and completing the required formal qualifications- Organise and manage own time effectively in order to meet all requirements of role- Ensure Health, Safety and Security standards are adhered to including completing of appropriate documentation

- On-load and off-load baggage manually or mechanically, in accordance with the relevant training received.- Gather, input and process all data and documentation necessary for the fulfilment of the success of the operation, by manual, automated or computerised systems, including weather reporting.- Undertake all relevant baggage sortation duties in a safe and efficient manner.- Carry out area hazard checks.- Carry out aircraft inspections.- Carry out equipment inspections.- Report any faults or irregularities with equipment, facilities or processes to the appropriate management.- Carry out Head-set duties, including communication with the flight deck, in accordance with the relevant training received.- Operate position and remove company equipment, in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the relevant training received.
