The position reported directly to the State Manager, managing timely supply of products to the Western Australian market. The role was responsible for the Fremantle bulk distribution centre, OH &S, human resources, building and maintaining customer relationships through exceptional and reliable customer service. The role dealt with various logistics and shipping companies importing from the eastern Australian states and Asia. Key responsibilities of this leadership role were (not limited to), Remodel entire 10,000 m2 warehouse layout to maximise loading and unloading efficiency with reduced forklift movement and prepare for business growth. Communicating with shipping service providers to ensure appropriate stock levels. Build a strong team to focus on sales, customer service, & warehousing practices. Customer pricing and margin control. Management of customer issues. Investigation and arbitration of customer issues and other. Full profit and loss accountability for the Fremantle bulk distribution centre. Management of ten full time staff including an Operations manager, Inventory Manager, Customer Service Manager Monthly and weekly reporting of market intelligence, sales targets, distribution costs and OH & S. Staff recruitment, dismissal, training, mentoring and succession planning. Improve self governance and implement standard operating procedures. Minimise ghost tonnage and control freight variances. Driving safety of each site and include as a key objective to staff. End of month financial forecasts & accruals. Facility and asset management.
