Over 1 billion people in the world have some kind of disability......................... Strange how we are still finding disability awareness, our biggest hurdle?Assistive Technology, is not a 'niche market' anymore, it is a specialized 'massive market' that changes the lives of people. Creating awareness, is one of our main roles, and it seems crazy in this day and age, that there is still such a lack of awareness.My history in the industry only really started in 2007, having spent most of my working life, in the engineering industry, having come from Sheffield and the Steel Factories. This was a huge change, but one I will never regret or forget, as it changed my life for the better, and I feel I have now found my vocation. After quite a few years of training 'face to face' and seeing so many of my students, where some had major learning difficulties. A very high percentage were passing their degrees, all due to the DSA assistance, and then moving on to have successful jobs/careers. What I found fantastic, was that many students, would remember me and the help I had given them over the years. Many kept my number, and contacted me to let me know their progress, isn't that just payment enough, to know you have been a small part of helping to change their lives by helping them on the road to self fulfillment. It was this work, that led me to think up, create, and bring to market the “iView Learning”, now one of the leading training portals in the industry, and in my humble opinion, by far the best.Through these years, I have, (as many people know), worked tirelessly with BATA, APPG-AT and was appointed as the Chairman for the ATSP suppliers group. Another area, I am very proud to say, is that I have gone from a hard working trainer, through the ranks at Wyvern to become the CEO. Today I am now a Director of Wyvern, and we are opening new divisions inside Wyvern, to use our expertise from the DSA and our software development team, to move in to the workplace.So, watch this space, but if you have some expertise we can use, or have ideas how we can work together, then please drop me a line.
