In 2008, David Avino founded Argotec, an aerospace engineering company, whose research and innovation activities mainly concern the creation of small satellites for deep space and the development of new technologies to support the comfort of astronauts.In 2013 he developed the first European commercial activity in the space sector involving Lavazza in a public-private partnership with the Italian Space Agency.In 2016 he was appointed representative member for Piedmont in the Research and Innovation group of Confindustria nazionale. In the same year, he was elected as board member of Piccola Industria di Torino (SME industries).In 2016 Argotec was recognized as an Innovative SME.In the development of satellite platforms, Argotec was selected by NASA to participate, as the only European company, in two important space exploration missions (Artemis-1 and DART).In November 2016, he received the NASA award in Washington for the best experiment carried out on the International Space Station, the only award given to a European company.In December 2017 he received the Innovation Award of the Presidenza della Repubblica of Italy.In November 2018 Argotec was selected as the first space company to access the prestigious Elite program of the London Stock Exchange group, born in Borsa Italiana in collaboration with Confindustria.In December 2018 Forbes Italia mentions Argotec among the five most influential national aerospace companies in the country.In December 2019 he was appointed by Forbes Italia in the list of 100 top managers in 2019.
