I believe deeply in the power of compounding and that it applies to personal relationships and organizational cultures as well as investing. It has taken me many years and many mistakes to internalize the significance of this simple formula. It is now so central to my personal and professional life that I try to exclusively focus my attention on the long-term when I make commitments of my scarcest resources: my time, my emotional energy and my financial capital. As I have become better at applying this to all facets of my life it has led me to be surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, companies and causes that are having significant and positive impacts on my life and in their chosen fields. I wake up every day feeling excited to root for all of them and the frequency and nature of their many successes is a regular source of joy.My current investing activities take place at Raga Partners where I co-chair the Investment Committee and am the largest investor. Our flagship fund debuted in 2022 and seeks to compound capital over time while collaborating with exceptional leadership teams. Our investment process leverages our multi-disciplinary experience while our network of trusted relationships allows us to source compelling opportunities and to improve outcomes for the companies in our portfolio. From 2012-2020 I managed my capital out of a family office supported by Raga. Direct investments I made during that time include Peloton, NYDIG, Stone Ridge Holdings Group and The Infatuation. Prior to that I was the Co-Head of the Goldman Sachs Global Securities Division and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. I am currently a trustee of The New Museum of Contemporary Art where I also chair the Board of Advisors for their incubator NEW INC. I am also a trustee of the policy institute Third Way and co-chair the fundraising efforts of my class at Harvard College. I live in New York City.
