State auditors pleased with the clarity of the response, and the lab obtained state accreditation in 2002.Results: The upgraded LIMS system allowed the lab manager to take over the QA QC functions, resulting in elimination of one salaried position (mine), saving the company money. I would go on, later, to work for the company that makes that LIMS.
