I am a dynamic Social Studies teacher with demonstrated capabilities in leadership, instructional expertise, data driven instruction, and positive reinforcement. I am committed to creating a positive classroom environment where all students know that they can learn. This is best achieved when students know what concepts they are expected to master and their achievement level on those concepts. The use of formative and summative assessments drives my instruction. Detailed and timely feedback allows my students, as well as their parents and guardians, to know their progress at all times. This learning can only be achieved in a classroom that is student centered and positive. I encourage both my students and my colleagues to use positive reinforcement with students as it generally produces the best results. As both a teacher and a leader I have the skills necessary to encourage a positive school culture where students master the skills and concepts necessary to be competitive in the 21st Century global workforce.
