I began my career in 1977 and spent 11 years in High Voltage Cable Installation as a Design Draughtsman with a further 4 years in the Steel Framed Building industry. I started the Management side of my career in 1996 as Drawing Office Manager back in the High Voltage Cable industry and moved into a Quality systems role in 1999 before becoming SHEQ Manager in 2000. In 2007 I moved into the Civil Construction industry as H&S Manager and have assisting in winning the RoSPA Sir George Earle Trophy for Occupational Health and Safety.In January of 2015 I took up the position of Head of SHEQ Systems, then in 2017 became HSEQ Manager.I have been a guest speaker for the HSE at their ‘Worker Involvement in Health and Safety’ conference in October 2008, and have most recently trained in the Loss Prevention System of behavioural safety management in the Petro Chemical Industry.I am a Technician Member of IOSH, an Associate of the IIRSM, a Practitioner member of IEMA, an Associate of the CQI, and a Member of the IET with A11, A12 and both Internal and Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015) Quality Management qualifications, A NEBOSH General Certificate, an Environmental Management Diploma, and an HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.Specialities: SHEQ Management Systems implementation, Compliance and Inspection/Auditing, including ISO9001:2015. Communication at all levels to obtain involvement, buy-in and to engage others.
