While assigned to Wasco State Prison, my assignments included the supervision of hundreds of inmates and security of the facility. Acted as Sergeant for over a year, In addition, I was a facility training instructor, responsible for training both custody staff and non-custody in security procedures and state policies. I was one of four Chief Job Stewards for the union, representing correctional officers with contractual disputes between the employees and management. I proposed a no-smoking ban, which was implemented statewide, saving the state over 7 million dollars per year.

I was the site security supervisor and liaison for all transactions between the client and the Pinkerton office. Responsible for the supervision of an 15 person crew (covering three shifts), scheduling payroll hours, guard oversight and placement, and installation of automated guard check points covering a 15 acre facility, which resulted in the recovery of over five hundred thousand dollars of media equipment.

During my enlistment, I was assigned to the Security Police field as a Security/Law Enforcement Specialist. Based at Ramstein Air Base, Germany my duties included guarding Air Force property and personnel, high-ranking dignitaries, dog handling with the canine unit, just to mention a few. I was privileged to serve as a member of the TWA Hostage Recovery Team in 1983. I received extensive training in many different areas of security and law enforcement.
