Managing a team of 6 Senior Industrial Engineers and Project Managers covering all operational planning and engineering requirements at 5 national road hubs and 6 air gateways in the UK.Responsible for the recruitment of this new team and all planning and engineering works at these facilities in support of the integration of FedEx and TNT networks. Managing the development of parcel sorter systems from sorter design through to delivery. Such major infrastructure projects require myself and my team to work with a multitude of internal cross functional departments as well as external suppliers. Other major projects include working with facilities and real estate in the development of new sites or enhancing existing facilities. Additionally working with IT in the development and deployment of scanning and dimensioning/weighing technologies and solutions.

Responsibilities include : - Initiated, developed and lead on strategic and tactical operational projects from raising of initial business case through to planning, implementation and post implementation benefit tracking. - Delivering the following 3 key strategic initiatives as part of TNT's 5 year strategic plan 2012-2017 :o Integration of the TNT Fashion operation into the TNT Express business & attain cost saving synergies of £1.2M pa.o Increase sort capability by project managing and delivering a new brownfield regional sort centre and strategic south west depot in Swindon at a cost of £17M.o Act as UK lead and work with the European planning team to deliver TNT UK’s first dedicated international road hub in Dartford at a cost of £60M.- Develop & implement the operational network capacity strategy with consideration to depot infrastructure, supporting systems and mechanical handling solutions. - Identify and introduce new technologies that will benefit the operation especially in areas of mechanical handling systems and property infrastructure with a view to enhancing operational and cost efficiencies and improving operational processes and service. - Lead and develop a multi-skilled team of 28 people to achieve the above.
