To provide effective management of Port Operations, including Shipping, Maintenance Management, Safety and Security within NQBP’s portfolio of ports which includes Weipa, Abbot Point, Mackay and Hay Point. To deliver the defined maintenance budget, implement maintenance schedules within the port and coordinate and manage the Port Operations Team to deliver a cost efficient service and ensuring the efficiency of shipping movements at the Port of Mackay. The role provides strong leadership, technical advice, support and assistance in relation to the Port Operations and Maintenance, this includes the identification and investigation of incidents, the implementation of control measures, and reporting on the effectiveness of adopted initiatives.

Responsible for the receival of bulk grain and woodchips by road and rail to the port terminal. Storage of these products and loading of vessels to the customers satisfaction. Develop strong performance from the team through leadership and development of staff. Zero harm was the focus at all times through all of these process. 2011/12 export 2.1mtpa Grain and Woodchips.
