Before entering the medical device space in 1999 with Medtronic CRM, David’s first roles out of college were in sales with ADP selling payroll services and Monlycke Health Care selling latex surgical gloves to operating rooms. With an entrepreneurial spirit that still motivates him today, he accepted a role in an expansion territory growing the pacing business from $900K to $5.6M annually in three years. He then moved into a marketing role as a product manager, and then marketing leader for Medtronic’s first wireless ICD. Joining the international division at Abbott (St Jude Medical) in 2007, David championed St Jude’s global launch of its first irrigated ablation catheter and pump system in five regions around the world. These experiences developed excellent product planning, product launch, and market development skills at home and abroad. This foundation of sales and marketing is what has been the basis of a successful career in the medical device space for over two decades. Leaving the EP space and entering the vascular space at AngioDynamics in 2009, David launched a new renal infusion catheter, and built a market-entry strategy to the clot-management market. David then joined Spectranetics in 2010 (acquired by Philips in 2017) as the company was reorganizing for growth. During David's time at Spectranetics, the enterprise value of the company grew from about $190 million to $2.2 billion and the stock grew from around $5 to $38.50 per share. David served in a variety of capacities during his tenure contributing to this growth including sales director, marketing manager, head of medical education, and marketing director for SymphonySuite, Philips’ industry-leading office-based labs solution offering. David returned to Philips in the Heart Rhythm Management division in 2023 to lead marketing for the CIED lead management business. David lives in Richmond, Virginia where he attended James Madison University for his undergrad and now sits on the executive advisory board for marketing in the college of business. David also has an MBA from the University of Minnesota. After successfully owning and operating a local vending business in Richmond for 7.5 years, David and his business partner had a successful exit in 2023.
