Oletex manufactured sports and leisurewear for major retailers and manufacturers in the USA. The company’s customers included Federated (Macy’s), Bloomingdales, JCPenney’s and other major private labels in the American market. On three separate occasions Oletex received a Federated “Best Supplier award” ahead of 2500 suppliers worldwide. The position was responsible for the manufacturing and warehousing unit of some 120 employees. As well, the Manufacturing and Logistics Manager managed a number of sub-contractors employing a further 300 workers. The report was directly to the CEO.Responsibilities:• Warehouse• Cutting room operations• In house production facility• Subcontractor operations• Quality Controllers• Sample and development room • Engineering and maintenance • Production planning• Technical liaison with clients• Technical, time and motion specifications for costing for the Sales and Marketing department• Establishing and maintaining health and safety compliance to American employment legislation standards, with both Oletex employees and sub-contractors• Customer relations with Buyers and their representativesSignificant Achievements:• Expanding production from 120,000 pieces to 300,000 pieces per month • Raising the standards of sub-contractors from third world conditions to comply with the quality, production, health and safety as required by the USA market• Initiating the total integration of production lines with quality inspection and packing, to both improve production output and real time feedback with production issues• Playing a key role in the establishment of a purpose built ERP system, with an emphasis on pinpoint reporting of current status of production
